Rusty Railing and Spider Web Texture
Hole in the Wall
1. Thes image represents their labels because the macro shot, lit up from the top, shows all of the bumps and rust spots of the rusty railing, and the macro shot of the hole in the brick wall is lit up from the bottom, showing all of the little crevices and imperfections of the wall.
2. From this assignment, I learned how to take properly lit pictures, showing the texture of the subject, by being lit up from the side.
3. What I found to be the easiest part of the project was finding the subject to shoot, as a texture can be found in nearly everything. The most difficult part of the assignment was correctly lighting up the subject to reveal the imperfections, holes, and crevices on the surface of the subject.
4. My strongest image, in my honest opinion, would have to be the hole in the brick wall. This is because I lit up the wall from the bottom, while also using a medium depth of field.
5. My weakest image from this assignment was taken of the rusty railing that had a spider web on it. The reason that this photo is not as good as the "Hole in the Wall" photo is that I could not get the lighting correct, as there was a flourescent light located directly above the subject. Also, I could not get the spider web into focus as well.
6. If I were to do this assignment again, I would have to explore the settings on my camera a bit more, experiment with different types of lighting, and try to find more interesting subjects.
