Kaleidoscope

  1.  This image represents its label, because I used various tools, a lot of copy and paste, and a few filters to create this image.
  2. From this assignment I learned how to use various tools to cut up, copy, and paste an image in various patterns to create a picture that looks like what is seen through a kaleidoscope.
  3. What I found to be the easiest part of this project was choosing the image, and selecting part of this image to use.  What I found most difficult of this project was arranging the image in the proper spots, and alligning the selected pieces properly.
  4. There is only one image.
  5. There is only one image.
  6. I would use a different image.  I would also select a different pattern to use, and place the pieces in a different order.

Alternate World: WWII Memories

1. My image represents its label because I combined an image of my grandfather from WWII, with images from Battleship Cove, over a background shot of Bermuda.  I chose these photos as a way of commemorate my grandfather, who served our nation in World War II.
2. From this assignment, I learned how to use differents layers, with different levels of opacity to creat a collage-type photo.
3. What I found most easy about this project was taking the photos to use.  The hardest part of this assignment was putting the images together in a way that not only made sense, but looked appealing to the eye.
4. My strongest image would have to be that of the ship in the background.  I really like the angle at which it was taken and put into the final product.
5. My weakest image would have to be that of the cartoon man on the cartoon bullet.  To be honest, I am not sure I really even like it in the final product.  Also, I had a hard time putting this image into the final image.
6. If I were to redo this assignment, I would probably make it a lot more surreal, and a lot less of an image honoring my grandfather.

Projection

1. These images represent their label perfectly, as I used a projector to project a simple pattern on to my model's bodies, while the image conformed to my models.
2.  From this assignment I learned that you can use light, projected onto a model or subject, to create a very abstract look.
3.  I found this project to be quite easy.  The hardest part of this project was positioning my models in such a way that the image turns out nicely.  Also, the model from my first image kept on doing different poses, even after I asked him to cooperate.
4.  My strongest image would have to be the second shot, posted above.  This is because you can more clearly see the lines projected onto my models.
5.  My weakest image would have to be the first image above.  This is because the pattern that I used did not show very well on my model's grey sweatshirt.
6.  If I were to do this project over again, I would have to find new models, and perhaps try to use a different pattern.

Stop Motion and Long Exposure

Stop Motion

Long Exposure

1.  The images shown above represent their labels based on the shutter speed of the camera when I took the shots.  The picture of the Maserati and the picture of the water drops were taken with a high shutter speed.  However, the picture of the waterfall and the picture of the cars driving by the Playland Arcade were both taken with a slow shutter speed, around 20-30 seconds.

2.  What I learned from this project is that I can utilize my camera's settings, such as shutter speed, to create a more interesting photo, and either capture motion or stop it.

3.  What I found most easy about this project was finding a subject to shoot (although I jjust happened to be passing by the Maserati on the highway).  What I found most difficult was adjusting my camera's setting, in order to capture motion perfectly.

4.  My strongest image would have to be the image of the water fall.  This is because, unlike the image of the cars passing by, the motion within the image is more clear, and it is easier to tell what motion is going on.

5.  My weakest image would have to be of the Maserati.  This is because the front end of the Maserati is blurred, while the rest of the car is still.

6.  If I were to do this project again, I would choose different subjects to shoot, so that I could explore long exposure photogaphy a bit more than I have already.

High and Low Depth of Field

 High Depth of Field

Low Depth of Field

1. These images represent their titles perfectly, as the first two pictures were taken by utilising the different tools and settings on my camera to show a high depth of field, and the third image was taken by utilising the same tools and settings, but with a lower depth of field.
2.  From this assignment, I learned how to properly utilise the settings and funtions of my camera and lens to create the feel of a high and low depth photo.
3.  I found this project to be quite easy, as you only have to adjust the focus of the lens, as well as afew other things on the camera itself, to get the high depth and low depth of field.
4.  My strongest image would have to be the third image of this post, of a shell.  I believe that this is my best image, as the shell, which is right on the edge between the foreground and the background, is the only object in focus.  The wire and shells in the foreground are blurred, just as the whole background is.
5.  My weakest image would have to be that of the old Morgan.  I believe this to be the truth, as the front end of the car, including the mirror, is a bit blurry and out of focus.
6.  If I were to do this project over again, I would have to find more interesting subjects.  Also, I would have to use different lighting (although the image of the Chevy BelAir steering wheel was taken during the sunset).

Textures

Rusty Railing and Spider Web Texture

Hole in the Wall

1. Thes image represents their labels because the macro shot, lit up from the top, shows all of the bumps and rust spots of the rusty railing, and the macro shot of the hole in the brick wall is lit up from the bottom, showing all of the little crevices and imperfections of the wall.
2. From this assignment, I learned how to take properly lit pictures, showing the texture of the subject, by being lit up from the side.
3. What I found to be the easiest part of the project was finding the subject to shoot, as a texture can be found in nearly everything.  The most difficult part of the assignment was correctly lighting up the subject to reveal the imperfections, holes, and crevices on the surface of the subject.
4. My  strongest image, in my honest opinion, would have to be the hole in the brick wall.  This is because I lit up the wall from the bottom, while also using a medium depth of field.
5. My weakest image from this assignment was taken of the rusty railing that had a spider web on it.  The reason that this photo is not as good as the "Hole in the Wall" photo is that I could not get the lighting correct, as there was a flourescent light located directly above the subject.  Also, I could not get the spider web into focus as well.
6. If I were to do this assignment again, I would have to explore the settings on my camera a bit more, experiment with different types of lighting, and try to find more interesting subjects.
